Reflection

Throughout my life during personal, cyclical and societal changes I have always turned to music as a trusted companion for solace and inspiration. Singing, dancing and listening keep me in my body and feelings and help move forward. But it’s those internal tunes that well up from inside during quite moments that often contain messages of what is stirring or unresolved.  

This morning it is Honesty by Billy Joel.  With all of the political dramas and uncertainty I think that finding ways to ‘tell the truth even when your mouth hurts’ can be the start of reconciliation across the huge divides, especially if there is the reciprocal willingness to listen with an open heart.
